Do you share our convictions that the past is not dead, primary sources are not inaccessible, & American Presbyterians are not irrelevant? Then dive even deeper into the writings of and about the 18th and 19th century American Presbyterians by subscribing to the Dead Presbyterians Society for only the cost of a cup of good coffee each month! Members receive access to the following:
Recent Additions - This page lists every new author or new PDF we add to the site, so that you won’t miss anything that might interest you.
Author Index - An alphabetical, hyperlinked index of the over 1900 Presbyterian authors on our site, to reduce the number of clicks you need to find out if an author is on our site, and to get to his/her page.
Log College Curations - Our site now provides 17,000 free PDFs - but for our members we’ll curate hidden gems at least once a month that you won’t want to miss but might not know about or be able to find - for example, this letter from the General Assembly to President George Washington, and his reply.
Log College Outlines - These expanded outlines of select works will enable you to get the gist of a title quickly, and allow you to see if you’d like to read the piece in its entirety
Early Access - Members get a first look at some of the hidden gems we locate.
Though Dead They Still Speak - A blog of great quotes from the 18th and 19th century American Presbyterians
Topical Pages - We’re in the process (a long process!) of organizing all the works on our site into a variety of categories. This valuable resource is available to members only.
Commentaries - Quickly find out if an American Presbyterian wrote a commentary on a particular book of the Bible.
Log College Review - Short form scholarship on the individuals, writings, and theological issues of the 18th and 19th century American Presbyterians (contact us if you’d like to write for it!).
Sermon Index - A work in progress, we’re building this list so that you can easily find out if the passage you’re preaching/teaching/studying was preached on by an American Presbyterian. A PDF is arranged by Scripture or you can download an Excel file to sort the data another way.
Author Timelines - Over time we’ll be adding new annotated timelines of significant Presbyterian authors so that you can have a quick overview of their life and ministry.
And Lord willing more resources and content to come!
